What the Job Looks Like Day to Day
- Manage daily service department operations including scheduling, workflow, and technician productivity
- Drive department performance across key metrics: labor sales, effective labor rate, hours per RO, and customer pay GP Through Expense control and Productivity/Process Management.
- Develop and coach service advisors on sales process, customer communication, and write-up quality
- Develop and coach Technicians on Multipoint inspection thoroughness, Quality of work Standards, Diagnostic Accountability and Proficiency.
- Monitor and improve CSI and online reputation in alignment with OEM standards
- Manage technician and service advisor staffing, productivity, and accountability alongside Fixed Operations leadership
- Coordinate with Parts on day to day operations, we operate as a Team with parts/service not as independent departments.
- Review daily and monthly financial performance; present results to ownership and Fixed Ops Director
- Ensure compliance with warranty policies and OEM procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop environment
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of service department management experience at a franchised dealership
- Proven track record of growing labor sales and improving department efficiency
- Strong working knowledge of service department financials and DMS reporting
- Experience developing advisors and holding teams accountable
- OEM brand experience preferred; Ford, Jeep, or Ram experience a plus
- Professional communicator with the ability to manage up and down effectively
- Able to handle Complex Customer resolution situations
- Solutions-oriented, data-driven, and calm under pressure
